Accessibility

Last updated 5 July 2026

We want Hosterman to be usable by everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use.

Our commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build the product rather than a one-off check.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML and clear document structure for assistive technology.
  • Full keyboard operability with visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
  • Light and dark themes designed to meet AA colour-contrast ratios for text and essential UI.
  • Respect for the reduce motion system setting, so animations are minimised when you prefer.
  • Responsive layouts that work down to small screens without loss of content.
  • Text alternatives and accessible names for icons and controls.

Known limitations

Some areas are inherently interactive and harder to make fully accessible — in particular the browser terminal and live console, which rely on a text grid, and third-party content you deploy, which is outside our control. We continue to improve these where we can.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or need information in a different format, please tell us — your feedback helps us improve. Email marvin.kiefer@swisswebdev.ch and, if you can, include the page and what you were trying to do. We aim to respond promptly.

Ongoing effort
